And the most easiest way to tease the consumer should be low price tag. Therefore lot of major cellphone manufacture make an arrangement with cellular provider to cooperate their product in one single package for cost efficiency, which commonly know as locked phone.

Locked phone means that you only could used the cellphone with one specific provider and cannot be alternate with others. This type of cellphone is offered as one package price and usually have a binding contract through it. As the compensation, consumers could purchase the cellphone lower than the market price. But this practice make the option to choose our own preferred cellular provider is limited, which is some of consumers don’t like it.

As the effect, some of major cellphone brand also release their unlocked phone. In this option, consumers could choose their own preferable cellulars provider and not get tide up with specific contract. This offering, of course will reflect the price that put on it. In most case, an unlocked phone tag price will follow the market price, which is at some point should be quite fair.

So, it is back to your own needs, which one do you like the most. Lower price but limited in option or get a market price with free option to choose? For me personally I would prefer the second options.
