The density of keywords is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears on the web page. But mind you, keywords should not be used but should be just enough to appear in important locations. If you repeat your keywords with every other word on each line, then your site will probably be rejected as a site or artificial spam site. Density keyword is always expressed as a percentage of the total number of words on a web page.

Suppose you have 100 words on your web page (not including HMTL code used to write web pages), and you use a keyword for some five times in the content. The density of keywords on that page is obtained simply by dividing the total number of keywords, by the total number of words that appear on your web page. So here he is 5, divided by 100 = .05. Because the density of keywords is a percentage of the total number of words on the page, above the multiply by 100, or 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The accepted norm for a density keyword is between 3% and 5%, to get recognized by search engines, and you should not exceed. Remember, that this rule applies to all the pages on your site. It also applies to not only a key word, but also a series of keywords that relates to another product or service. The density of keyword should always be between 3% and 5%.

Simple Steps to check density:

  • Copy and paste the contents of the web page of an individual in a word processor program like Word or Word Perfect.
  • Go to the menu and click “Select All”. Now go to the Tools menu and select “Word Count”. Write down the total number of words on the page.
  • Now, select the option “Search” function “Edit” menu. Go into the “Replace tab and type in the word you want to find.” Replace “this word with the same word, so you can not change the text.
  • When you complete the replacement function, the system will provide a count of the words you replaced. Who gives the number of times you used the keyword in the page.
  • Using the total words on the page and the total number of keywords, you can now calculate the density of keywords.
