It is Maurice Hilleman, Professor of Vaccinology and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania who started this issues. Its started from one of his vaccine that accusing and blame for vaccines and autism worse. Although this kind of debate is actually welcome and commonly happen in sciences world, but still for it couldn’t diminish what Hilleman’s had contribute for mankind.
Back to the story of Maurice Hilleman lifes, he was entered as a microbiologist at the University of Chicago and ended up joining one of the biggest pharmaceutical company, Merck. Maurice Hilleman dedicated his life for research of childhood diseases. He has develop nine vaccines, such as mumps and rubella vaccine. His best achievement is measles vaccines that saves millions lives every year.
Today, Maurice R. Hilleman works are honored as one of the basic former in vaccines research medical history. But as we stated above, although his dedication is acknowledge and get a wide confession from many of his colleagues, there is still lot of debate and accusing about his work that blame for effecting an autism worse. Paul Offit, MD and others researchers clearly refutes these arguments and in showing how Hilleman’s work. As long it handle properly and still on the right path, healthy debate are still needed for the sake of the sciences it self.
